In Short: Market focus will be on the Federal Reserve's vote split and Chair Warsh's guidance, while geopolitical tensions are bolstering the U.S. dollar.

Futures already price further tightening, so market attention will be on the Federal Reserve's vote split, projections, and Chair Warsh's guidance, with clearly defined hawkish and dovish scenarios for the U.S. Dollar (USD).

Geopolitical uncertainty tied to the rapidly expanding Middle East conflict is driving investors toward the U.S. dollar, while the U.S. Dollar Index recently posted its strongest two-day rally since 2022.

The U.S. dollar's strength is making it difficult for the Canadian dollar to rally against it, even with rising oil prices. Oil acts as a buffer for the Canadian dollar, stabilizing it during financial market stress, but the U.S. dollar's strength is preventing a stronger rally.

The Canadian dollar is once again finding itself pulled in two directions: rising oil prices can help stabilize it, but the overall strength of the U.S. dollar is making it challenging for the Canadian dollar to gain meaningful ground against it.
