Before the injury, Davis had recorded 39 receptions for 433 yards and six scores in 26 games since making his Tennessee debut in 2023. His best performances came when he started in place of Miles Kitselman, posting 21 receptions for 257 yards and two touchdowns in nine games. Davis was also named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, which recognizes the nation's top tight end.
Following Davis' injury, sophomore DaSaahn Brame and South Alabama transfer Trent Thomas have been playing the majority of snaps behind him. Davis' absence will likely impact the Vols' offense, as he was a reliable target and blocker for quarterback Faizon Brandon.
