Samsung’s Galaxy S27 could get a display upgrade the Pixel 11 apparently missed

In Short: Samsung is reportedly preparing to upgrade the displays across its entire Galaxy S27 flagship lineup, marking the first time in three years that the company will use its latest M16 OLED material in its primary mobile hardware.
The M16 OLED is expected to offer significant improvements in brightness, power efficiency, color performance, and longevity, distinguishing the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra from their predecessors and even from the Pixel 11 series, which will not benefit from this new technology.
This upgrade comes as the M16 OLED has also been used in the new iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo, indicating a notable shift in Samsung's display strategy. The standard and Plus models will move from M13 to M14, while the Pro and Ultra models will leap to M16.
Samsung is pairing the M16 glass with Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology and an integrated Privacy Display feature, further enhancing the display quality and privacy of the new devices. This coordinated update is designed to widen the gap between Samsung's standard models and its premium phones.

- According to a new report from Korean publication ET News, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display have agreed to use the company’s latest M16 OLED material set in the displays of the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
