GKIDS will release the film 'Widow’s Bay' in theaters in 2026 in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland, following its premiere at the 79th Cannes International Film Festival on May 15.
The London Film Festival will screen the film in October, adding to its international recognition.
The music for 'Widow’s Bay' was composed by 8, also known as Taku Matsushiba, and the manga on which the series is based, created by Fujimoto, debuted on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in July 2021, garnering over 2.5 million views on its first day.
Viz Media and MANGA Plus launched the manga digitally in English, expanding its reach to a global audience.
The Creative Emmys had already seen 'DTF St. Louis' rack up wins, and it capped off its Emmy season with the top prize in the limited series and anthology category.
