Guwahati-based reports stated that suspected armed militants opened fire on the home, killing a woman and injuring her husband and infant son.

Security forces, including personnel from the Assam Rifles stationed nearby at Kaimai, rushed to the village, provided medical assistance, and evacuated the injured father and son towards Jiribam for treatment.
