Former Bond Girl Says Next 007 Should Stay True to Books
Developing
In Short: Alison Papworth, a former Bond girl, has expressed her desire for the next James Bond to remain faithful to the character's literary origins.

The search for the next 007 is currently underway, with many names being floated, including Jack Lowden, who starred in "Slow Horses" alongside Gary Oldman. Oldman, on "The Morning Show," suggested Lowden could be the next Bond, sparking renewed speculation.
Former Bond girl Papworth, known for her roles in multiple films, believes the next 007 should adhere to the literary character's portrayal. "It was the middle of winter doing the scenes for 'Octopussy' where we were fighting in the castle," she reminisced, highlighting the physical demands of the role.
Papworth's comments come as the studio prepares to cast the next James Bond, with director Denis Villeneuve and writer Steven Knight set to helm the project. Nina Gold, the casting director for the next Bond film, has been confirmed, adding another layer of anticipation to the casting process.
In a separate development, former NFL linebacker Clay Matthews has been the subject of controversy, with alleged photos circulating online purportedly showing him after extensive plastic surgery. Matthews has not commented on the photos, which have fueled speculation about his appearance.
Meanwhile, Pierce Brosnan, who starred as Bond in four films, has expressed no interest in reprising the role. "I have no desire to see myself in Bond. I’m just a member of the audience now awaiting the next Bond and wishing him well," Brosnan told The Times.
The casting process for the next James Bond is expected to continue, with the studio likely to consider a wide range of candidates to fill the iconic role.
