'It was the middle of winter doing the scenes for "Octopussy" where we were fighting in the castle,' Papworth recalled, reflecting on her experiences on set.
The search for the next 007 is currently underway, with many names being suggested. Former Bond girl Papworth has a clear message for the filmmakers: "Leave one thing untouched." Her comments come as speculation continues over who will take on the iconic role.
In March, it was reported that Nina Gold had secured the role of casting director for the next James Bond film. Meanwhile, Pierce Brosnan, who starred as Bond in four films, has a different perspective. "I have no desire to see myself in Bond. I’m just a member of the audience now awaiting the next Bond and wishing him well," Brosnan told The Times.
Former NFL linebacker Clay Matthews recently appeared in alleged photos showing extensive plastic surgery. The photos, which circulated online, sparked debate about the physical transformation of actors in the role. Matthews himself has not commented on the photos.
Gary Oldman, the star of the recent "Slow Horses" series, has also weighed in, suggesting that his co-star Jack Lowden could be the next James Bond. Oldman made the comment on "The Morning Show," adding to the list of potential candidates for the role.
The next James Bond film is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, with Steven Knight writing the screenplay. The casting process is expected to be rigorous, with the studio looking for an actor who can embody the spirit of the character as portrayed in Ian Fleming's novels.
