Emmys Add Reba McEntire for Dolly Parton Tribute, Big Baywatch Contingent as Presenters
Developing
In Short: The Emmys have added Reba McEntire to honor Dolly Parton, with other notable presenters including Stephen Amell, LL Cool J, and Matthew McConaughey.
NBC and the TV Academy announced more presenters for the upcoming Emmy Awards, including Reba McEntire, who will perform a tribute to the late Dolly Parton. The show will also feature the entire cast of Fox's Baywatch reboot and stars from other hit shows like NCIS: New York and Apple TV's Brothers. The additions aim to bring a mix of entertainment and promotion to the ceremony, which will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
Previously announced presenters include Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Rachel Sennott, among others. The tribute to Parton, a fellow country music icon, will be performed by McEntire, who is also a star on NBC's comedy series Happy's Place. The additions also include the entire cast of Fox's Baywatch reboot, as well as stars from CBS's NCIS: New York and Apple TV's Brothers.
LL Cool J and Scott Caan, stars of NCIS: New York, and Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, leads of Apple TV's Brothers, will serve as presenters. The additions are expected to generate significant buzz, especially given the recent excitement surrounding McConaughey and Harrelson's performance in the Texas victory over Ohio State.
TV critics are also keeping an eye on the leading nominees, with 'The Pitt,' 'Hacks,' 'Widow's Bay,' and 'Pluribus' leading the pack. Critics hope that Emmy voters will recognize the performances of Karolina Wydra in 'Pluribus' and Rhea Seehorn in 'The Pitt,' among others, as they continue to advocate for their favorite performances.
