Zelensky emphasized that the outcome of such a meeting would be crucial, as he believes it is not about words but about achieving tangible results.
During an interview with Deutsche Welle conducted at a Canadian military base in North Bay, Zelensky further elaborated, saying, 'Yes, of course. We have to come. We have to meet, talk and make a decision.' He also mentioned that trilateral talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia could resume on September 7, as reported by AzerNews.
Zelensky has also called on European countries to provide Ukraine with maximum support, including the provision of 100-120 interceptor missiles, especially for the upcoming winter months, as reported by the Kyiv Post. He stated, 'I want to have 100-120 (interceptor missiles – ed.) for these difficult months, especially the cold months. We’ll see how many months this winter lasts – that is, these cold months: one, two, three. We don’t know. This is truly a major challenge.
Meanwhile, the G20 summit will also see the participation of other leaders, including those from Iran, Russia, and China, who will gather in India for the 18th BRICS summit. The meeting between Zelensky and Putin is less than two weeks after they reaffirmed their 'longstanding' strategic partnership, according to Fox News.
