Following Missouri's victory over Kansas, 38-21, Drinkwitz did not hold back in his criticism. 'I was disappointed in the rivalry, the turn that it took today,' he said. 'I’m just glad that this whole right versus wrong bullcrap that was started just got settled on a football field, because it’s a football game,' Drinkwitz added, emphasizing his relief that the game itself resolved the tension.
Drinkwitz also blasted Kansas over its 'Heroes and Villains' hype video, which he felt was inappropriate for framing the historic rivalry. 'I get there’s a past to it, but why are we stirring that bullcrap up?' he continued, expressing his dissatisfaction with the way the historic rivalry was being presented leading into the game.
