In Short: Golden Globe nominee Courteney Cox is considering directing a new Scream movie, stating.

Courteney Cox, known for her role as Gale Weathers in the Scream franchise, has expressed interest in directing a new installment of the horror series. Speaking at the Deadline Studio during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Cox said, 'I think I should, honestly. Nobody knows more about that movie than I do.

Cox, who recently returned to the director's chair for her sophomore feature "Evil Genius," a true-crime story about the "pizza bomber" case, is eager to take on the franchise she has been a part of for 30 years. "But I think it’d be great and fun and a good publicity thing," she added.

Cox's passion for directing is evident, as she feels she was "meant to be a director." Her experience with "Evil Genius" and her deep familiarity with the Scream franchise make her a strong candidate for the role. The franchise, which has been a part of her career since 1996, could benefit from her insight and direction.
