Explora Journeys Launches Largest Cruise Ship with Luxury Hotel Experience

In Short: Cruise editor Marc Shoffman explores how Explora Journeys is bringing a luxury hotel experience to the sea with its new ship, Explora III, which launched this summer.
Cruise editor Marc Shoffman discovered that Explora Journeys, an MSC-owned brand, is offering a luxury hotel experience on its ships, with its latest addition, Explora III, being the largest in the fleet.
Shoffman noted that the ship felt like walking into a luxury boutique hotel, with large glass chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, some as long as six metres.
UK managing director Antonio Paradiso explained that this approach is deliberate, aiming to offer a new expression of luxury at sea, inspired by the world's best upmarket hotels.
Explora III, launched this summer, offers larger open-air decks and five indoor and outdoor heated whirlpools, along with a heated outdoor pool surrounded by soft sunbeds under a retractable roof, catering to unpredictable weather conditions.
What's still developing
- There is is also new wine bar called The Cellar, where guests can pay for a tasting and explore vintages and varieties inspired by where the ship is sailing.

- Prices for a seven-night Caribbean cruise from Miami to Puerto Rico, departing on 6 December start from £3,110 per person.
- There is also a pool surrounded by soft sunbeds under a retractable roof, that will help for the unpredictable rainy days the ship may get when sailing around the Med or the tropical storms in the Caribbean.
