Texas state Rep. James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Senate, has secured endorsements from 21 Republican officials, aiming to unite voters against GOP nominee Ken Paxton, according to reports.

Talarico stated, 'We’re bringing Texans together onto one team to take power back for working people. Because the real fight in this country isn’t left versus right — it’s top versus bottom,' highlighting his strategy to transcend party lines.

The race is considered a toss-up, with Democrats hoping that Paxton’s more conservative stance will attract middle-ground voters, while Paxton aims to portray Talarico as too radical.

Talarico currently holds about $21.5 million in campaign funds, compared to Paxton’s $1.75 million, according to Federal Election Commission data.

Talarico is one of several 2026 candidates in purple states touting cross-party endorsements to attract independent voters.
