During an audience with 147 new bishops from five continents, Pope Leo XIV underscored the critical importance of bishops remaining close to Jesus. 'To speak about him, we need to be with him; to lead his people, we must allow ourselves, every day, to be led by him,' the pope explained, according to Ewtnnews.

Pope Leo XIV also encouraged the bishops to love their people and boldly bring the Good News of salvation. "Love the people that the Lord has entrusted to you" and "bring the Good News of salvation to everyone," he said, according to OSV News.
