Jacobs, who started all 17 games in his first season with the Green Bay Packers, faced multiple charges including battery and criminal damage, but prosecutors dropped domestic abuse enhancers after his girlfriend did not fit the mold.
In court, Jacobs said, 'I fully understand the seriousness of the situation, and I take full responsibility.' A judge ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine and approved a deferred judgment agreement. Jacobs, a three-time Pro Bowler, is regarded as one of the best backs in the NFL.
The incident, which involved a physical struggle and damage to his girlfriend's phone, was captured on footage from Jacobs' complex. The Packers have stood by Jacobs and allowed him to participate in activities at the facility, though he remains on the NFL's commissioner exempt list pending a potential suspension.
Jacobs' attorneys stated that he has already volunteered to attend counseling. With Jacobs out indefinitely, the Packers will rely on MarShawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks, and recent trade-addition Kaleb Johnson to fill the running back void.
