Defense tech startup Mach Industries has seen its valuation soar to $3.7 billion after raising an additional $600 million, reflecting rapid growth and investment in cutting-edge aerospace technology. This latest round, announced on Thursday, represents a significant jump from the $1.8 billion valuation in June, marking a two-fold increase in just three months.

The company, founded and run by 22-year-old Ethan Thornton, has expanded its operations, hiring 77 new employees over the past year, according to SpaceNews. Mach has also diversified its product line, launching a new business called Mach Energetics, which produces solid rocket motors and jet engines for military use.

Mach Industries is now a key player in the defense tech sector, manufacturing a range of unmanned military vehicles and weapons, including vertical takeoff and landing drones and long-range strike systems. The company claims its highly integrated systems are more cost-effective than those from traditional defense contractors.

U.S. Rep. Jeff Hurd praised the company's growth, stating, 'Agile Space Industries is showing that cutting-edge aerospace innovation can happen right here in Western Colorado. This new facility means good-paying jobs, new opportunities, and continued investment in Durango and La Plata County. I’m proud to see a Colorado company growing here at home, creating jobs, and building technology that strengthens America’s leadership in space.
