Israeli security forces have eliminated Farah Hamed, a Hamas terrorist responsible for several deadly attacks, including a 2003 shooting that killed an Israeli civilian, according to the Israeli security agencies.

Hamed was killed in a joint operation involving the Israel Security Agency (ISA), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the Israel Police in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

The security agencies stated that Hamed was a senior operative in Hamas's military wing and had been involved in recruiting and directing Hamas operatives to advance attacks in the West Bank.

Among the attacks attributed to Hamed was a 2003 shooting on Route 60 that killed Israeli civilian Zvi (Howard) Goldstein.
