Apple has unveiled the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, both of which come with enhanced health features and a new chip, the S11, that improves heart rate sensing accuracy.
The Apple Watch Series 12, set to launch next week, and the Ultra 4, launching next month, will feature a Health Sensing System and a more powerful chip, the S11, which Apple claims provides the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable device.
Health tracking has been significantly upgraded with features like overnight vitals that include recovery HRV measurements, and a new daytime vitals view that allows users to toggle between overnight and daytime metrics. The Health app also includes movement evaluations using vision-based AI models on iPhone and heart rate data from the Apple Watch.
Additional features include a new Health Sensing System and the ability to identify music through ambient song recognition, with Live Rewind showing text snippets of conversations around the user. These features are expected to be available at launch, with Live Rewind rolling out later in 2026.
