Wife Files Wrongful Death Suit After Amazon-Branded Plane Crashes at Miami Airport

The wife of one of the victims killed when an Amazon-branded plane failed to stop on the runway and crashed filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit names Amazon, Amazon Air Cargo, 21 Air, and the two pilots, who survived the crash, as defendants.
According to the lawsuit, the aircraft struck navigational aids and equipment before hitting a Ford van on airport property. The plane, carrying over 32,000 pounds of cargo, mostly contact lenses, had traveled from Cincinnati to Miami and then to San Juan, Puerto Rico, earlier in the day.
The crash resulted in the deaths of Rolando Aleman Leon, 55, and Julio C. Aleman, 55, and critically injured Eugenio Corredor, 79, Ridoel Averhoff Diaz, 32, and Roosevelt Sebastian Perdomo Torres, 36. The cleaning company employed the victims said they were 'heartbroken' by the deaths of their workers.
The lawsuit was filed by NBC News on Wednesday, following reports from Just The News and other outlets.
