Viral AI Assistant Instinct Now Has Its Own Email Address

Meta's new AI assistant, Muse, can now autonomously handle a variety of tasks, from booking travel to sending emails, according to reports from Fox Business. The assistant, modeled on the open-source AI agent OpenClaw, is designed to access a person's apps across categories like email, calendar, payments, health, shopping, and the smart home.
Meanwhile, the buzzy new AI assistant Instinct, valued at $2.5 billion, is rolling out a new feature that will allow it to do more on its users' behalf. According to TechCrunch, the company is giving everyone Instinct email addresses, allowing the agent to create and run its own accounts without cluttering up users' inboxes. Founder Noah Shinn said on Tuesday that the new email addresses let the agent handle account sign-up and management for tasks that require email.
Instinct, which includes an early Sierra researcher named Noah Shinn, is currently raising a Series A round of funding to buy more compute and open its waitlist. Like Poke before it, which was recently sold to Cognition, Instinct seems to be orchestrating off-the-shelf models with some specialized fine-tuning and tool use, according to sources.
However, the AI's capabilities extend beyond just email management. According to reports from MacRumors, a series of screenshots seemingly show Verizon's AI chat assistant answering detailed questions about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, just hours before Apple's announcement event. The assistant made claims about the phone's finish names, which included 'Titanium Gray,' 'Titanium White,' and 'Titanium Black,' names that more closely resemble the finish names Apple used for the iPhone 15 Pro lineup back in 2023.
While the screenshots were shared privately with MacRumors by an X user, the company has not independently verified or replicated the exchange, suggesting the chatbot may have since been patched, or that the original screenshots were altered or otherwise inaccurate. The assistant also made a series of more plausible claims, but the authenticity of these claims remains questionable.

- For longer tasks, Muse can continue to work after the app is closed but can come back when something changes or if it needs approval, like before sending an email or making a purchase, Meta said.
