In a series of leaks, Apple is reportedly set to unveil a new generation of iPhones, including the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, along with a foldable device. The Dynamic Island, a feature introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro, is expected to undergo a redesign, becoming smaller and more capable, according to reports from MacRumors and The Apple Post.

A video circulating online ahead of Apple’s ‘Surprise and shine’ event may have provided an early look at one of the most noticeable changes coming to the iPhone 18 Pro: a significantly smaller Dynamic Island. The footage, shared online, appears to show an iPhone with a narrower pill-shaped cutout at the top of the display, consistent with months of reports pointing to a reduced Dynamic Island on this year’s Pro models.

According to reports from MacRumors, the underlying code for the new Dynamic Island mode requires a sensor region less than 100 layout points wide, or below 16.57mm. This means that Apple would need to shrink the hardware by roughly 20% to unlock the new software behavior. The current iPhone 17 Pro measures 20.76mm, making the change a significant one.

The new iPhone Pro-inspired rear design, as shown in a leaked OPPO Find X10 Pro Max render, trades the usual centered camera island for a wide plateau spanning the top of the device. This design, according to reports from Android Authority, closely resembles the iPhone Pro models, suggesting a strong influence from Apple’s recent designs.

In addition to the Dynamic Island redesign, Apple is reportedly set to unveil its first ever foldable phone, rumored to be named the iPhone Ultra or Duo. This device, which has been years in the making, is expected to cost over $2,000. Alongside the foldable device, Apple will also launch an iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, updates to the AirPods, and its new chief executive.

The timing of these leaks is notable, as ’s Mark Gurman has separately reported that Apple’s redesigned Dynamic Island will be smaller and more capable. The leaks suggest that Apple is making significant changes to the front of the iPhone 18 Pro, even though the overall design of the handset is expected to remain familiar.
