iPhone Duo: Apple reveals its most dramatic redesign ever

Confirmed

Technology Desk

In Short: Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, featuring a new customizable Pro controls interface in the Camera app and a unique foldable design.

The iPhone Duo, with its 1:1.4 aspect ratio when open and closed, invites users to explore a new form factor that differs from the square aspect ratio of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8. "Apple suggests this 'invites you to open' the phone," said an Apple spokesperson, as reported by Ars Technica.

While the iPhone Duo is undeniably the most capable iPhone ever, it also comes at a premium price. "The iPhone Duo would have looked like a totally fresh take on the foldable design a few months ago, but Samsung has made waves with the Galaxy Z Fold 8," noted Ars Technica.

Apple prefaced its reveal with a denunciation of foldables that open into a square aspect ratio, leading to the iPhone Duo adopting a passport-like shape when closed. "Apple ended today’s hardware event with one of its classic 'One more thing' reveals," according to Ars Technica.
