However, no Democratic candidate in the state now wants to appear alongside him. Cindy Durian, a Democrat planning to vote in May’s primary in suburban Harrisburg, said she would never support Fetterman again. "He is antagonizing Democrats, seemingly for pleasure," said Democratic strategist J.J.
Fetterman’s approval ratings are now substantially higher among Republicans than among Democrats. His isolation within the party has been acknowledged by his own office, which has not responded to requests for comment. State Rep. Peter Schweyer of Allentown, when asked when he last saw Fetterman, could not provide an answer, highlighting the senator’s current status.
The political landscape in Pennsylvania is increasingly competitive, with Democrats aiming to flip a competitive congressional seat and a state Senate seat. However, Fetterman’s growing isolation within the party has made it clear that he is no longer a viable asset to their campaigns. Democratic candidates across the state report no desire to involve the senator in their campaigns this year, and Fetterman has remained silent regarding any plans to hit the trail.
