The Isle of Man's Area Plan states that applications within the boundary will generally not be supported, and the conservation area includes notable structures like the Great Union Camera Obscura, the Douglas Lighthouse, and the Harbour Swing Bridge Tower.
The move aims to protect and maintain the unique character of the area, with possible delays in applications for changes that do not align with these preservation goals.
