Chhattisgarh's government has launched the NIPUN Mission, a comprehensive initiative aimed at creating new opportunities in employment, skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation for the state's youth. The mission, approved by the cabinet on Wednesday, involves a significant investment of Rs 500 crore over the next five years.
Under the NIPUN Mission, the Chhattisgarh government plans to establish 100 Emerging Technology Labs and a JOB Engine across all 33 districts. These labs will provide hands-on exposure to new and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to young people. "The labs will enable young people to work on modern technologies, undertake practical experiments, and develop technology-based solutions rather than limiting learning to theoretical knowledge," said a government official.
The mission also envisages setting up entrepreneurship development centers in all 33 districts, along with five industry excellence centers. The NIPUN Job Engine will focus on skill development and formal employment based on industry requirements, with the broader objective of creating better job opportunities and encouraging young people to become job creators rather than job seekers. "The initiative seeks to establish Chhattisgarh as a major hub for startups, innovation, and technology-driven industries," said another official.
In addition to the NIPUN Mission, the cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30, which aims to build a robust export ecosystem and strengthen logistics infrastructure in the state. The policy aims to achieve qualitative and quantitative growth in Chhattisgarh's exports while strengthening the state's integration with national and global markets.
The NIPUN Mission is an important component of the Chief Minister Startup and New-Age Industry Preparedness through Up-skilling of New Generation Youth (NIPUN) Mission. According to a senior official of the Industries Department, the NIPUN JOB Engine will be crucial in achieving the mission's goals.
