Ukraine said Tuesday that a Russian drone attack hit the building of a local TV channel in Kyiv, injuring at least five people. The attack comes as Russian strikes have resumed after a brief pause, following a visit by US envoys to both capitals.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the drone strike partially destroyed the building of the My-Ukraina TV channel, part of the country's United News telethon. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that at least three people were killed and 19 others injured in overnight Russian drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed it launched overnight strikes on 'Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, logistics and warehouse centers, and military installations' in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, among other targets in Ukraine. Ukraine's Air Force claimed it shot down 142 out of 166 drones and 33 missiles launched by Russia.
The strikes have caused damage in various districts of Kyiv and the wider Kyiv region, with reports of civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. The three-day pause in strikes on Moscow and Kyiv had expired, and the attacks have resumed, according to reports.
