Russian air raids resumed in Ukraine, killing at least two and wounding 10 in Kyiv, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The strikes targeted buildings in Kyiv and the Boryspil and Fastiv districts, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Following the attacks, Russian regional Governor Roman Busargin accused Ukraine of launching a drone attack that injured civilians in Saratov, nearly 1000km from Moscow. A separate attack on the Russian town of Starodub in the border area of Bryansk region killed at least one person, according to Yegor Kovalchuk, the region’s acting governor.
At least two people were killed and one person was wounded in a Ukrainian attack on the Crimean peninsula, said Moscow’s appointed regional governor Sergei Aksyonov. The strikes paused after leaders Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a ceasefire during visits by US envoys to Moscow and Kyiv.
The ceasefire, which lasted for three days, did not yield tangible progress towards ending the war, and strikes resumed after the pause expired. Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have killed at least 27 people over the past three days, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
