ITV has yet to comment on the changes to 'The Voice UK,' but The Sun newspaper reported that Cheryl, formerly Cheryl Tweedy and Cheryl Cole, is being considered as a potential replacement for Jones. Jones, however, is not thrilled about the idea of appearing in a reduced capacity. "They are offering a much-reduced role where I would make an appearance but without being actually involved from the start, and I'm not thrilled about that," he added in a statement to Digital Spy.

Jones's statement has garnered support from fellow celebrities, including former 'The Voice UK' coach LeAnn Rimes, who wrote, "go… you legend!" with a fire emoji. In the most recent series of 'The Voice UK,' Jones features as a coach alongside McFly stars Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, as well as US rapper Will.i.am and Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland. ITV is hopeful that Jones will return for the upcoming series, according to a source reported by the Press Association.

Jones's claims have sparked debate about the show's future. "They now say in the press they wanted to 'refresh' the show, and with a new coaching line-up there wouldn't be a chair for me," Jones continued in his statement. "To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience," he added, suggesting that the decision was made for creative reasons rather than financial ones.
