Meta Launches New AI Agent Muse for iPhone and Mac
Confirmed
In Short: Meta has launched a new AI agent called Muse, available on both iPhone and Mac.

Meta has launched a new AI agent called Muse, available on both iPhone and Mac. The app, which is free with weekly limitations, allows users to customize the agent's name and avatar, making it more relatable and friendly. Similar to Grok Bot, Muse is designed to handle tasks for users, following the trend of AI companies creating personified characters to enhance user experience.
According to reports, Muse is also available on the Mac through the web at muse.ai. The system is part of Meta's recent efforts to compete in the AI race, coming just a month after the company launched a more capable desktop app on the Mac. The launch of Muse coincides with Apple's upgrade of Siri AI, indicating a shift towards chatbot interfaces in voice assistants.
However, the launch of Muse comes under scrutiny following reports from Ars Technica about Meta's ad approval process. The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) reported that Meta failed to detect 332 ads containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) this year. Michelle Kuppersmith, executive director of Campaign for Accountability, which runs TTP, noted that the report comes after a historic $18 billion settlement forced Meta to agree to make changes to platforms to enhance child safety.
Kuppersmith stated, 'If Meta’s ad approval process can’t detect and reject such obviously horrific content before it is shown to Facebook and Instagram users, then Meta’s whole ad review system should be called into question.' The report also highlighted that many of the ads were not marked as violating Meta’s policy on child exploitation until TTP noted the discrepancy and Meta updated its records. Notably, Meta continued running dozens of CSAM ads in the days after the first batch was reported, according to TTP.
