Lindsay Clancy's lawyer Kevin Reddington expressed hope for an agreement between the defense and Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz after Clancy's trial ended in a hung jury last week.
Reddington also appealed to President Donald Trump to consider a pardon for his client, stating, 'Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can't be worse.
The trial, which lasted five weeks, ended in a mistrial on September 23, with Clancy facing three counts of first-degree murder.
While the president has broad authority to issue pardons and commutations, Clancy is not eligible for a pardon as she was not convicted of federal offenses and the trial involved state charges.
