SNL UK Adds Freddie Meredith to Season 2 Cast

In Short: Comedian and actor Freddie Meredith joins the cast of Saturday Night Live UK for its second season.
Saturday Night Live UK has announced the addition of Freddie Meredith to its cast for the upcoming second season, expanding the ensemble that hosted Tina Fey, Hannah Waddingham, and Nicola Coughlan in the first season.
Meredith, known for his roles in TV shows such as 'Such Brave Girls' and 'Big Boys', is also a comedian who recently debuted his show 'Need a Light?' at the Edinburgh Fringe, earning a nomination for the Best Newcomer Award.
Meredith expressed his excitement about joining the show, stating, 'It's the most iconic comedy show and it looks like so much fun. It will undoubtedly inform everything I do for the rest of my career and I can't wait for the experience. It's SNL!!!
The second season of SNL UK is set to premiere on September 12 with guest host Jeff Goldblum and musical guest CMAT, following a successful first season that included appearances by Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, and Ted Lasso actor Hannah Waddingham.
Meredith, who trained at drama school and began his career in theater, has been drawn to comedy over time, leading him to perform stand-up alongside his acting work and eventually create online sketches.
The show, produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team and Broadway Video for Sky and NOW, will feature Meredith alongside the 11 stars who hosted the first season, including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.
SNL UK is expected to run for 12 episodes, with additional shows planned for early 2027, and has been praised by its producers for proving the social media critics wrong and continuing beyond the second season.
