At the heart of the sequel is the infamous Owens curse, which has always made falling in love a dangerous prospect, and now threatens the next generation. The movie’s celebration of female relationships was something Bullock had embraced from the beginning, and fans are celebrating her return to that world.
Bullock recalls in a new interview the surprising criticism the beloved movie faced about its female-heavy cast. 'There’s just so many tones, like comedy and drama and magic,' she said, adding, 'I’m like, have you lived any life?' The promotion of Practical Magic was 'a bumpy road,' she shared with Entertainment Weekly.
The promotion of the film was marked by real-life margaritas during filming, with Bullock, Kidman, and their co-stars imbibing real booze while filming the memorable midnight margaritas scene.
