In Short: Netflix has officially announced the production of 'The Inbetweeners 3', with the original cast set to return.
The Inbetweeners franchise is set to continue with the third installment, as Netflix has officially confirmed the production of the film. Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas will reprise their roles from the original series and movies, reprising their characters from the hit show. The creators, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, have returned to write and direct the film, which will be produced by Claire Jones alongside Banijay’s Patrick Holland and Fudge Park Production’s Mark Lesbirel.
The original series, which aired on E4 between 2008 and 2010, set ratings records for the British broadcaster and won multiple awards. It followed the awkward sixth-former Will MacKenzie and his friends Simon, Neil, and Jay as they navigated school, friendship, and crude attempts at romance. The series spawned two hugely successful movies, with the first setting a UK box-office record for a British comedy and the sequel breaking records as well.
The Hollywood Reporter highlighted the franchise's enduring popularity, noting that if you've never loved anything before, apart from a car or a sandwich or The Inbetweeners, this news is for you. The third movie is now in development, with production beginning on Monday in the UK.

- Released this morning (Monday, September 7) across Netflix UK and Ireland's social media pages, the clip shows the four stars get back into the iconic 1996 Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii edition car from the series.
- The car fails to start in the clip, and the number three can be seen on the back windshield, confirming the new project will follow on from the previous two movies.
