In Short: Wimbledon is set to implement a new policy for influencers, requiring them to pass a test on tennis etiquette before being granted access to the tournament.

According to reports, Wimbledon has devised a unique plan to address the issue of influencers disrupting the atmosphere at the tournament," said Jon Wertheim, a tennis insider. "There will be influencers invited to Wimbledon in 2027, I was told, but as a condition, they must first pass some sort of test about tennis etiquette.

On the other hand, at the ongoing US Open, a group of influencers was spotted having full-blown photo shoots while matches were underway in the stadium’s corporate lounges. This behavior has been a source of frustration for many, as it detracts from the experience for other attendees and disrupts the flow of the games.

The BBC reported that around 100 influencers were granted accreditation to attend the US Open this year, highlighting the growing presence of influencers in professional tennis. However, the issue of their behavior has become a significant concern, prompting Wimbledon to take action.

Carlos Alcaraz, the 23-year-old Spaniard, continued his impressive run at the US Open, winning his third-round match against Tommy Paul in straight sets. Alcaraz, who won the US Open titles in 2022 and 2023, demonstrated his shot-making prowess and fitness, having returned from a wrist injury that caused him to miss both the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this summer.

The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Wimbledon final in 2025, further emphasizing the importance of maintaining a proper atmosphere at the tournament. The spotlight on the behavior of influencers at the US Open has led to calls for stricter measures to ensure that all attendees respect the traditions and etiquette of the sport.
