The promoter of the prospective Joshua-Fury fight, Sela, is based in Saudi Arabia and is fronting the bill for the contest, with both fighters signing separate contracts with the company. However, Fury's focus has shifted to Usyk, who has vacated his heavyweight titles but is not committing to retirement just yet.
Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, has been at the center of the controversy, with Fury accusing him of creating issues in making the bout come to fruition. Hearn is now threatening legal action against Dana White and TKO, claiming both parties tried to lure Joshua to fight Fury behind his back.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Joshua fight, Fury remains committed to a trilogy with Usyk, who has defeated him twice. The Ukrainian heavyweight champion is currently working with Joshua as part of his training and coaching team, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
