Actress Dale Dickey, who has built an impressive acting career working alongside Hollywood superstars, is enjoying the success of her role in the Emmy-nominated series Widow’s Bay. Created by Katie Dippold, Widow’s Bay is a sharp and witty comedy-horror series set on a small New England island, where a group of people struggle to break a centuries-long curse. Dickey recently sat down with Awards Buzz to discuss her role and hopes for the show’s future.

‘Even as actress Dale Dickey has now reached a new level of stardom with the success of Widow’s Bay on Apple TV and the love around her no-nonsense character of Rosemary, she has already dedicated much of her life to building an impressive acting career,’ said Dickey. The series has earned 19 Emmy nominations and 8 wins, making it a strong contender for the final Primetime Emmy awards.

‘Widow’s Bay had the strongest showing with eight wins,’ said Deadline. ‘Will being recognized across a variety of crafts instead of just one concentrated area carry over to a win for Outstanding Comedy Series toppling favorites like Abbott Elementary or Hacks?’ The show’s success has also brought attention to Apple TV, which currently holds a respectable third place in Emmy wins.

‘That’s 19 across Apple TV titles; Apple also counts a win for the company’s “I’m Not Remarkable” commercial in its headline total of 20,’ said 9to5Mac. As the Primetime Emmy’s ceremony approaches on September 14, the show is looking likely to sweep up all the top prizes in the comedy categories.
