RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, speaking at a London event, emphasized that the idea of a Hindu Rashtra is not based on religion, worship, or lifestyle, but on the acceptance of diversity. 'The purpose of the Hindu Rashtra is to give this to the world — diversity is natural and unity is truth,' Bhagwat said.
Bhagwat also expressed confidence in the current generation, stating, "I am more confident about future generations, which, I said, had an urge to make the world a better place and were willing to shed petty differences for that purpose." He further noted that the younger generation should be given a purpose and the necessary knowledge "without imposing" a method on them.
On the issue of British and Indian interests potentially diverging, Bhagwat advised British Hindus to act as "pucca Hindus" to avoid conflict. He explained, "There would be no conflict if British Hindus are pucca Hindus," suggesting a strong adherence to Hindu values and principles.
Bhagwat's London engagement is part of the RSS's centenary-year global outreach, aimed at deepening its engagement with the world and providing the "right" perspective about its organization and work. This follows similar events held in New York and Toronto, indicating a broader international presence and dialogue.
