Danny Boyle, director of the new film 'Ink' about the launch of The Sun newspaper, has confirmed the use of AI in the making of the movie, according to Deadline. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Boyle stated that he incorporated around 30 seconds of generative AI into the film.
Ink' director Boyle expressed his thoughts on AI in film, saying, 'It’s very good for animals,' as reported by Deadline. Boyle also shared his perspective on the international audience's knowledge of Fleet Street, stating, 'What does an international audience know about Fleet Street?' during an interview with IndieWire.
Boyle's decision to use AI was due to the practicalities of recreating Fleet Street, as he explained, 'We couldn’t afford to recreate Fleet Street,' during the same interview. Boyle has been working in the U.K. again after directing the sequel '28 Years Later' and producing 'The Bone Temple,' both starring Jack O’Connell.
Despite the success of 'Ink' at the Venice Film Festival, Boyle expressed a similar sentiment to his experience with 'Slumdog Millionaire' in 2008, noting that the film had been unceremoniously dumped by Warner Bros. at the Telluride Film Festival, according to IndieWire.
