Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered a high-level probe, directing senior officials to visit the site and promising strict action against illicit liquor networks. The excise and police authorities have sealed six liquor shops in the surrounding area and seized samples for laboratory testing to identify the exact chemical contaminants.
District collector Pratibha Pal urged people who had consumed alcohol in the previous 24 to 48 hours to get themselves medically screened, particularly those showing symptoms associated with toxic liquor poisoning. Medical teams and administrative officials have been deployed in the affected areas to identify and screen people who may have consumed the suspected liquor.
Following the incident, strict legal action has been ordered against those engaged in the illicit liquor trade, and the district administration has appealed to people experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, headache, or fever to immediately visit the nearest health facility. Authorities have also launched an investigation to trace the source of the suspected spurious liquor and identify those involved in its manufacture or supply.
