To demand a ban on DJ loudspeakers, a rally is being organized by the Anti-Loudspeaker Pune Citizens’ Forum on Sunday, September 6, at 11 am, starting from Balgandharva Chowk and marching to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) headquarters, according to Mukund Kirdat, city president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut stated that residents of Pune strongly support the stance taken by Pune Municipal Commissioner Bapat, indicating strong backing for the ban.
NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule criticized the Fadnavis government for failing to take a clear stand on noise pollution. Meanwhile, Congress Pune city president Prashant Jagtap emphasized the importance of celebrating the city’s 125-year-old Ganeshotsav tradition using traditional instruments like Dhol-Tasha, rather than pollution-causing DJ music.
