Chicken Shop Date Host Amelia Dimoldenberg Ends Decade-Long Show
Confirmed
In Short: Amelia Dimoldenberg, host of the long-running YouTube series Chicken Shop Date, has announced she will end the show after 12 years.
Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of Chicken Shop Date, has announced that she will end the show after more than a decade, according to reports. The quirky concept, which features interviews with celebrities framed as a "date" with the host, has become a major promotional hub for top stars, ranking alongside platforms like Graham Norton's chatshow or BBC Radio 1, Dimoldenberg told.
Dimoldenberg's show has expanded far beyond its original format, leading to success on red carpets and even in the film industry. She recently made a cameo in Devil Wears Prada 2, and her interviews with celebrities such as Wicked actress Cynthia Erivo have been a highlight of the series. "To me the show is my very own rom-com and I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch," she wrote.
The decision to end Chicken Shop Date comes after 12 years of success, with Dimoldenberg stating that all good dates must come to an end. "I never thought I'd stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it's now time to move on from this adventure and on to a new one," she said.
Dimoldenberg's show has been praised for its original format, which helped it to take off, according to Megan Bull, an entertainment journalist and Chicken Shop Date fan. "It's led to success beyond YouTube, from red carpets to the big screen," Bull said. The show has become a go-to stop on the press circuit for movies, shows, albums, and even some campaign trails, according to reports.
While Chicken Shop Date will officially end, Dimoldenberg assured fans that there will be a few final dates before the show comes to a close. "I started Chicken Shop Date as part of a youth club, and we made a magazine, and everything I learned there, the connections I made, the mentoring I got, set me up for the career that I have today," she said. The show has been a significant part of her career, and she is looking forward to moving on to new adventures.
