However, prior state permission is required for investigations involving Bihar government employees and state-controlled or aided bodies.
Notably, the CBI retains the automatic authority to investigate cases involving employees of the Government of India and Central PSUs, as well as private individuals implicated alongside them. This move aims to enhance the CBI's role in investigating offenses that may involve both state and central entities, while ensuring that local officials remain subject to state oversight.
