US Warns Americans of Escalation as Strikes Hit Iran

The U.S. Embassy in the Middle East has advised Americans to exercise heightened vigilance, warning of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions due to the ongoing situation.
Explosions were heard east of the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, according to Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes on Truth Social, describing them as 'large and powerful' in retaliation for Iran’s attempted mining of the Strait and a missile attack on a U.S. base in Jordan, both of which were intercepted.
Multiple U.S. embassies in the Middle East issued warnings of potential escalation as U.S. Central Command launched the strikes around 12 p.m.
The U.S. Navy's E/A 18G electronic-warfare aircraft are patrolling the skies over the Middle East, as the U.S. military enforces a blockade of Iranian ports, according to CENTCOM.

- The warnings came as CENTCOM said its forces "began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran" around 12 p.m.
