Paxton's office has launched an investigation into TriWest Healthcare Alliance following a surge in complaints about denied claims due to errors that incorrectly listed some beneficiaries as having 'Other Health Insurance' (OHI), according to NBC News.
The investigation was prompted by cases like that of Guy Shoemaker, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, who reported tens of thousands of dollars in previously approved claims being overturned and money clawed back from paid providers due to an OHI error.
TriWest Healthcare Alliance responded by stating, 'We and the 146,000 providers in our Texas network are committed to military families, helping ensure they receive the care they have earned.
