Alter's statement, released on Friday, came in response to a lawsuit filed by Kanter Freedom, who alleged that his First Amendment rights were violated when he was ejected from the Chicago Sky's Aug. game.
Kanter Freedom and Royce White had declared themselves eligible to play in the WNBA amid ongoing debates about transgender athletes, but were removed from the arena after brief protests.
