NASA has launched a new program element under ROSES-25, focusing on Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics Networks (TCAN). This initiative aims to support coordinated efforts in fundamental theory and computational techniques to advance astrophysics research beyond individual investigator projects.

The goals of the TCAN program include strengthening theoretical and computational astrophysics in the United States by fostering collaborative networks that span institutional and geographical boundaries. These networks are expected to enhance the training of future theoretical and computational scientists.

The program specifically focuses on grand challenges in Time Domain Multi-Messenger Astrophysics, soliciting proposals for developing integrated theoretical and computational tools to model multi-messenger phenomena. Proposals are encouraged to include participants with expertise in various fields, including astrophysics, gravitational physics, nuclear physics, and computational mathematics.

ROSES-2025 Amendment 70 has officially released D.4 TCAN as a new opportunity within the ROSES-25 program, marking a significant step towards advancing the field of astrophysics through collaborative research and innovation.
