TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp has revealed she was airlifted to hospital for surgery after slipping and injuring her leg while walking home from a beach in Devon on holiday, according to the BBC and the London Evening Standard.

Allsopp, 55, slipped on a muddy patch on the steep path during a birthday picnic at Welcombe Mouth beach near her family home at Meadowgate, in Devon, as reported by The Independent.

She explained that her family had to assist her back to the beach, and Oscar, her son, ran to get help. The RNLI and Devon Air Ambulance then took her to hospital with a significant amount of painkillers.

The TV presenter underwent surgery on her leg and paid tribute to the hospital staff who cared for her, as reported by The Independent.

The incident occurred during her birthday celebrations at Welcombe Mouth beach, near Bude, North Devon, according to The Independent, providing a reminder of the risks associated with coastal walks.
