Fox News Media has parted ways with politically influential financial journalist Maria Bartiromo after more than a decade, the company announced Thursday hours after Fox Business Network aired the final episode of the show that bears her name.
Fox News announced that longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo was leaving the network after more than a decade on Sept. 3, with her exit effective immediately.
The statement did not supply a reason for the change, but it noted that the final episode of Maria Bartiromo’s daytime series Mornings With Maria had aired that morning, and that her Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures, will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz this week with a permanent replacement announced at a later date.
Fox News said Thursday that it had parted ways with longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo, a vocal defender of President Donald Trump who hosted several financial news shows.
Maria Bartiromo’s sudden departure was announced Thursday via a short statement from the network.
Fox News Media announced on Thursday, Sept. 3 that the longtime anchor, who spent more than 12 years at the network, is no longer with the company.
Fox News Media said in a statement that it wished “her all the best on her next chapter” Maria Bartiromo and Fox News have cut ties.
Separately, Status first reported that Maria Bartiromo shared an internal Fox News message with the White House that showed network executives had instructed staff not to amplify President Donald Trump’s latest claims about the 2020 election.
