Anker has introduced the MindBase home hub, designed to enhance the functionality of smart home devices by bringing AI processing and network-attached storage (NAS) capabilities directly to the hub itself. Unlike traditional smart home ecosystems that rely heavily on cloud-based AI, the MindBase hub processes commands and analyzes data locally, offering a more secure and efficient solution.
The hub supports Matter devices and integrates with nearly 100 Anker products as well as smart home devices from other manufacturers, making it a versatile addition to any smart home setup. Each MindBase hub includes a 2-bay SATA NAS for storing data and a dedicated drive for video storage, providing users with a comprehensive storage solution alongside AI processing capabilities.
With a base model featuring 16GB of RAM and a rated 26 TOPS AI performance, the MindBase hub is capable of handling a wide range of tasks, from voice input interpretation to real-time monitoring of security cameras. This local processing approach not only enhances privacy but also ensures faster response times and reduced latency compared to cloud-based solutions.
