John Ternus to lead Apple into the age of AI

Confirmed

“He knows Apple Park like the back of his pocket in terms of hardware,” Ives said of Ternus. Cook announced in April that he would step down as Apple CEO at the end of August, and while he is leaving that role, he will remain with the company as the executive chairman.

“There’s no reason to fix what’s already working,” he said, predicting Ternus will concentrate on hardware innovation while leaving Cook’s supply chain intact. He becomes executive chairman of Apple’s board on the same day, with a mandate the company has said includes engaging policymakers around the world.

“That was really clever,” said Milanesi, arguing that the arrangement frees Ternus from a role Cook has handled alone for years. But I am stepping away from a role that I have loved deeply,” Cook said in a memo emailed to all employees on his final day, as seen by Bloomberg.
