Two people were killed and 16 others injured in a missile attack on Russia's Belgorod carried out by Ukrainian armed forces, regional acting governor Alexander Shuvaev said on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Shuvaev reported that Ukrainian forces had conducted 138 attacks across the Belgorod region over the previous 24 hours, resulting in three civilian deaths and 35 injuries.

The attacks included six artillery and multiple-launch rocket system strikes, as well as explosive devices dropped from drones on three occasions, according to Shuvaev.

These incidents follow a pattern of Ukrainian military operations in the region, highlighting ongoing tensions and conflict in the area.
